“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” ~Unknown

Leadership means influencing people by your actions, your words for achieving a particular goal or pushing towards a specific vision. Leadership comes in all forms. It can be political, social, or business-related. Leadership in business means the capacity of someone to manage the business, set new visions, introduce new strategies, and achieve organizational goals. Some people inherit these skills, and some develop these skills with time and experience. People with strong leadership skills are mainly involved in creating effective strategies for the development of the overall business.

What is the role of business leadership in promoting sustainable development?

Sustainable development joins people, planet, and profit. Environmental stewardship is when a business leader manages the company with the environment, society, and long-term sustainable development goals in mind.

Today companies need leaders who can balance both short-term goals and long-term goals, incorporate a new set of ideals with the intention of improving social and environmental issues of the world all in real-time. In simple words, it’s all about leading the company in such a way that benefits both society and the environment, without interfering with its financial performance.

To attain Sustainable Development Goals, leaders must manage natural resources, maintain high ethical standards, develop the vision, and focus on long-term goals while maintaining their moral compass. For this, leaders need to create opportunities for people to come together and create their own answers.

We must start with ourselves. Being responsible for our actions, holding our organizations accountable and leading by example. Hold yourself accountable to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Others will follow!
